Once you have clicked on an article that looks interesting, your options to view the full text will be shown on the right hand side. If the library subscribes to the journal, you can access the full-text via the green "Get it @ Rush" button.
Interlibrary loan (ILLiad) can be used to request PDFs of journal articles and book chapters and physical items which are not available through the I-Share network. ILLiad is the online interlibrary loan request and delivery system used at Rush for more details visit our Borrowing Guide.
LibKey Nomad is a browser extension that provides you with fast, one-click access to scholarly articles. When a scholarly publisher page loads, LibKey Nomad uses the DOI or PMID of the article, compares it to Rush's journal subscriptions. If the article is available, you can download the PDF or view the full-text online. LibKey Nomad is linked to the library's catalog. If the article is not part of the library's subscriptions, LibKey Nomad is connected to our Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad) Service. For additional information on ILLiad, please refer to our Borrowing guide.
LibKey Nomad can be added to the following browsers, Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Microsoft Edge, Brave, and Vivaldi. Like most browser extensions, it can be turned on and off under your extension settings.
Links to download the Nomad extension for many popular browsers can be found on Third Iron's LibKey Nomad page.
1. Select the browser of choice.
2. This will redirect to the browsers Add on or Web store. Click "Get" to download the extension.
3. To confirm download, click "Add extension"
4. LibKey Nomad will now be installed. To connect to the Library's resources, select the organization as "Rush University"
LibKey Nomad should now be successfully installed and connected. This only has to be done once.
Once installed, LibKey Nomad will quickly look for the DOI or PMID of the article, and determine if the Library has access to the full-text. If so, it will add a button to obtain article access.
This will either redirect to the article's PDF or to a new page where the full-text can be viewed online. If the article is not readily available, the button will redirect to the library's catalog where you can view different access options such as online text availability or placing an Interlibrary loan request.
Third Iron offers a technical FAQ page for additional support.
