Registering as a borrower
Registering with the Library entitles patrons to check out books and other materials from the Library. Registration can be done online, in person, or over the phone. Patrons must be registered before borrowing or requesting books from RUSH or another I-Share library or placing interlibrary loan requests.
Current students, faculty and house staff (residents and fellows) are automatically registered with the Library. RUMC staff and other affiliates should complete the borrower registration form, or call the Library Services Desk at (312) 942-5950.
Search the Catalog
Search for books, journals, and other materials available at the Library of RUSH University Medical Center and through I-Share, a consortium of 100+ libraries in the state of Illinois. You will be notified by email, usually within 5 business days, when your material is ready for pickup at the Library of RUSH University Medical Center's Services Desk (located in suite 571 in the Armour Academic Center). You may also borrow in person from any I-Share library with your RUSH employee or student ID.
Renew your Materials
Patrons wishing to renew RUSH University & I-Share materials can do so from the online catalog's My Library Card page. Library of RUSH University Medical Center books are loaned for an initial borrowing period of four weeks and can be renewed three times, for a total of sixteen weeks.
Lost Items
Both RUSH and I-Share borrowing privileges will be suspended until all lost items are replaced or lost item fees are paid to the lending library.
