Patron Code of Conduct

Quiet Zones

The 7th floor of the library is reserved for quiet study. Please silence cell phones and other personal devices. For phone conversations, please move to the 5th floor of the library. Disturbances should be reported to staff at the 5th floor Library Services desk, by chatting with a library staff member (you can find the green chat icon in the lower right corner of each page on this site), or by email to library@rush.edu.

Group Study Rooms

Group study rooms are available on the 7th floor of the library on a first-come, first-served basis. At the discretion of the library staff, individuals may be asked to leave a study room to accommodate a study group. To minimize disruption, please keep study room doors closed.

Minors

Youth under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult and may not be left unattended.

Personal Belongings

Personal belongings should not be left unattended at any time. The library is not responsible for lost or stolen personal property. Report lost or stolen items to RUSH Security at (312) 942-5678. Materials found unattended in the library will be taken to the Library Services Desk or RUSH Security.

Food & Drink

Use of Library Computers and Personal Devices

Library workstations are intended for use by students, faculty, staff, and visitors of RUSH University Medical Center. Headphones are required when listening to audio or watching videos. The library has headphones available for checkout at the Library Services Desk.

The library reserves the right to investigate reports of individuals viewing or listening to inappropriate or offensive materials on library computers or personal devices.
