What is CINAHL

CINAHL stands for the Cumulative Index of Nursing and Allied Health Literature. This database offers a collection of articles, books and other electronic information. It contains literature on nursing, biomedicine, health sciences librarianship, alternative/complementary medicine, consumer health, and allied health disciplines.

CINAHL offers:

  • Scholarly and peer-reviewed journals
  • Full-text articles
  • Evidence-Based Care Sheets and Quick Lessons
  • Publications from the American Nurses Association and the National League for Nursing

How do I access CINAHL?

You can access CINAHL via the Library's homepage, as shown in the image below.

Registering an Account

Registering for an account with CINAHL is easy and free.  Once you have an account, you are able to:

  •  save your searches
  •  save a set of search results

To create an account, click on "MyEBSCO" in the toolbar along the top right of the main CINAHL search screen, then "Create New Account."
