Using UpToDate at RUSH

Registering for a personal UpToDate account

RUSH University Medical Center faculty, staff and students can register for a personal UpToDate account.

Registering for a personal UpToDate account allows you to track CME/CE/CPD credit while researching a clinical question. 

To register for a personal UpToDate account, follow the steps below. 

  1. Go to the Library's homepage and click the UpToDate link in the Resources box. Alternately, sign in to UpToDate using whichever method you already use. 
  2. If prompted, sign in with your RUSH credentials.
  3. If you have not yet registered, you will be presented with a registration form.
  4. If you are not presented with a registration form, locate your name in the upper right corner of the page, click it to open the menu, andand select My Account. If you are not yet registered, this will open a dialog box titled "Welcome to My Account." Use the Click here to register link in this box to open the registration form. 
  5. Fill out the registration form and click Submit Registration. After you submit your registration, you will receive an email from UpToDate with instructions on downloading UpToDate mobile apps. 

Consolidating UpToDate accounts

If you already have an existing personal UpToDate account, it can be consolidated with the account linked to your RUSH single sign-on identity either during the registration process or after you have completed registration.

Additional personal UpToDate account(s) could date from before RUSH adopted single sign-on for UpToDate, or could have been established under a personal UpToDate subscription or another institution's UpToDate subscription.
