What is Scopus?

Scopus is a large and comprehensive abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature and web sources. It covers 330 disciplines and has over 75 million citations from over 5,500 peer-reviewed titles. Scopus also provides access to conference abstracts and over 95% of MEDLINE citations.

How do I access Scopus?

You can access Scopus from the Library’s homepage. You may be asked to login via a proxy account login and password. This can be either your Rush Network ID, Epic ID, or a specific proxy login and password. 

Creating an Account

With a Scopus account, users can create to keep their research organized. Registering for an account through Scopus is easy and free. Once you have created an account, you are able to:

  •  Save search strategies
  • Create lists to save searches or individual records
  • Create alerts
  • Customize export features

Steps to Creating an Account

You can create an account in Scopus, multiple ways. It is encouraged to register your account via your organization. This will walk you through how to create an account using your Rush login credentials. 

1. Select "Create Account" in the upper right corner of Scopus' homepage. 

 

2. This will bring you to a new window. If you don't see your organization, you can search for it. Here we see "Rush University" is already identified, you can click "access through your organization"

 

3. A new window confirming a successful login should appear, and you're done! You can click "continue" to be redirected to Scopus' homepage
