SharePoint
SharePoint: is predominantly an online document management system and communication site. Mircrosoft 365 is the main hub user can use to open OneDrive, SharePoint as well as Microsoft Teams. When user upload their files to OneDrive, they also upload these files to SharePoint. The owner can grant permission for other both internal or external to Rush to edit, or view the document.
Getting start: To share files or folders using SharePoint, follow these steps:
- Rush user can request a SharePoint site via Rush serviceNow by sending an email to help@rush.edu
- Sign in to your SharePoint site and navigate to the file or folder you want to share.
- Right-click on the file or folder and select Share from the menu.
- In the Share dialog box, you can choose to share the file or folder with specific people, anyone with the link, or people in your organization.
- If you share with specific people, you can enter their email addresses or names and add a message if you want. You can also set permissions to allow editing or view only.
- If you share with anyone with the link, you can copy the link and send it to anyone you want. You can also set an expiration date and a password for the link, and choose whether to allow editing or view only.
- If you share with people in your organization, you can choose whether to allow editing or view only, and whether to send an email notification to the recipients.
- Click Send or Copy Link to complete the sharing process.
- To stop sharing files or folders using SharePoint, follow these steps:
- Sign in to your SharePoint site and navigate to the file or folder you want to stop sharing.
- Right-click on the file or folder and select Manage access from the menu.
- In the Manage access panel, you can see the list of people or links that have access to the file or folder.
- To remove access for a specific person or link, click on the X icon next to their name or link.
- To remove access for everyone, click on the Stop sharing button at the bottom of the panel.
- Click Yes to confirm your action.
