Information for Distance Students

Any student enrolled in (only) online courses and not on site at the Rush campus may use the Library of Rush University Medical Center services listed below. Unclassified students taking online courses who register up to two business days before the first day of the quarter will automatically be added to the Library's patron database and do not need to submit a registration form.

Students who register for an online course less than two business days before the first day of the quarter can register for Library services in one of two ways: by filling out the patron registration form, or by contacting the circulation manager, Toby Gibson (toby_gibson@rush.edu, 312-942-2279). Registration usually takes 24 hours.

Interlibrary Loan services are available to students via ILLiad. You must be a registered patron of the Library to request materials.

Electronic delivery of journal articles and photocopies of book chapters are free to students. Most requests are filled within 3 days.

Distance education students are not able to Interlibrary Loan books and other print materials unless they are willing to pick up and return the items to the library. Distance education students should make arrangements with their local library to order books.

For more information, see Borrowing.

If you need assistance with any of our services, please contact the Library Service Desk at (312) 942-5950 or library@rush.edu. Please include your address and telephone number in your message. Generally, we will reply within one business day.
