FAQs

Is the format check required?

Yes.  You must submit your manuscript for a check in order to be eligible for degree conferral.  If you do not complete the format check, you will be ineligible for this degree conferral cycle, and may be required to register for classes to keep your registration current.

Do I need to have my project done before I submit for the format check?

No.  You are only required to submit portions of your manuscript for the check.  It is in your best interest to apply as soon as possible for the format check so that you can complete any necessary revisions to receive credit for the format check.

Do I need original signatures?

Your committee may provide electronic signatures on your approval ballot.

How do I buy copies of my manuscript?

You may purchase copies of your manuscript through ProQuest when you submit your manuscript for the format check.  Please note that you may not revisit this decision at a later time; this decision is the only option that you may not revisit on the ETD website.  RUSH University Library will also bind copies of your manuscript for a fee at your request.  You must supply the copies for binding, and the copies are bound as received.  The library does not check copies for accuracy and does not provide authorized signatures for signature pages.  Please consult the formatting manual for contact the library for more information.

Do I have to submit my manuscript through ProQuest?

Yes. We do not accept manuscript submissions via email or in hard copy.

Do I need an appointment for my format check or final submission?

No.  We are happy to answer questions via email, but the entire submission process is designed to be completed electronically through ProQuest.
